Colonel Frank Brooks is the Deputy Director of Space International Affairs for the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. In this capacity he assists the Director in her roles as principal space advisor to the Secretary of the Air Force, the Chief of Space Operations, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, SAF principals, and SAF/IA leadership and teams on matters related to space-related security cooperation functions spanning international agreements, and politico-military matters related to foreign military sales of space systems and education programs. Colonel Brooks has deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Prior to his current assignment, Colonel Brooks deployed to Al Udied AB, Qatar as the Deputy Commander, Space Forces – Central, the U.S. Space Force service component supporting U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) responsible for operational command and control of terrestrial space forces in the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility. Colonel Brooks enlisted into the U. S. Air Force in 1993 as an Electronic Warfare Systems Specialist and later retrained into the Emergency Management career field. Colonel Brooks is a 2001 Distinguished Graduate of the U.S. Air Force Officer Training School. He has served in a variety of leadership positions at the flight, squadron, division, and group levels. His staff assignments include Headquarters Department of the Air Force Staff, the Air Staff, and the Space Staff. In 2020, Colonel Brooks transferred to the U.S. Space Force.
