Mr. Philip T. Alcorn serves as the first Director of the U.S. Army Cyber Command Technology and Innovation Center in Augusta, Ga., one of the 21 Department of Defense designated laboratories, and the only laboratory at an operational unit.

Alcorn received his commission as a Naval Intelligence Officer through Navy Officer Candidate School in October 2001, following his graduation from Florida Southern College.

His operational assignments include Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron ONE ONE TWO (VAW-122); USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70); Carrier Air Wing NINE (CVW-9); Special Operations Command (SOCOM); Destroyer Squadron Four Zero (DESRON 40); and Navy Information Operations Command-Georgia. In 2013 he assumed command of 104 Combat Mission Team. His Navy service also included a tour as Flag Aide for Adm. Bruce Clingan, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Operations Plans and Strategy.

Alcorn joined the Army team in 2016 as a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance contractor, then was selected as a federal employee in 2018 to serve as the deputy director of the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command Coordination Element at Fort Gordon, Ga. (redesignated as Fort Eisenhower in October 2023).

In 2019 he was selected as the first Director of the Joint Mission Operations Center and Chief of the Cyber Solutions Development - Georgia.

He has earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Florida Southern College and a master’s degree (with distinction) in Business Administration from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal and Meritorious Civilian Service Medal.
