Ms. Linda L. VanDyke serves as the Director, Strategic Information Technology (IT) Business Operations for Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), directly supporting the DLA Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Deputy CIO. Ms. VanDyke leads the IT enterprise support office and executes the day-to-day business functions essential to accomplishing DLA’s IT and functional mission, to include human resources, contracting, budget and finance, enterprise architecture, configuration management, and audit efforts. She assumed her current position in September 2019.
Previously, she held the Information Operations Chief of Staff position, charged with leading information operations in areas of strategic planning, enterprise integration, organizational governance, strategic communications, and workforce management. She assisted the CIO in the planning and execution of IT policy within the Agency and promoted overall operational effectiveness of IT functional specialists. In an earlier role as Deputy Director, DLA Strategic Technology and Investment, Ms. VanDyke supported the DLA Chief Technology Officer in promoting technology standardization, awareness, competence, consistency, and efficiencies throughout DLA while managing the relationship between DLA and IT vendors whose products are strategic to enabling DLA's business processes.
Ms. VanDyke joined government service in 2009 after 20 years in the U.S. Navy. In the Federal sector, she has held various IT program management roles, including Deputy Program Manager and Logistics Chief for Distributed Continuity Information Network – Top Secret (DCIN-TS), Application Development Chief for DLA’s ERP, and Business Financial Manager/Assistant Program Manager for Integrated Data Environment (IDE)/Global Transportation Network (GTC) Convergence (IGC).
Prior to federal service, Ms. VanDyke served as an active duty Naval Supply Corps Officer on the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67), at Strategic Systems Programs, and at Joint Forces Command, Naples, Italy. She also served as an Air Traffic Controller, stationed in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia and in Rota, Spain. Ms. VanDyke received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and holds Masters Degrees in Business Administration, Psychology, and National Security and Resource Strategy. She is a distinguished graduate of the Eisenhower School, National Defense University. She holds DAWIA Level III certification in Lifecycle Logistics, Information Technology and Program Management, and is a graduate of the Senior Acquisition Course at Defense Acquisition University.
