Sherri L. Hanson is the Director of Logistics and the LG Organizational Senior Functional for Program Element Office Business & Enterprise Systems. In this role she is the senior logistician responsible for career development and training of 72 civilian and military personnel. Using her background in big data analytics she is also working to establish a common data framework that enables effective and efficient use of operational and programmatic data.

Ms. Hanson received her Bachelor of Business administration degree in management and marketing from the University of Texas, Master of Science degree in computer information systems from St. Mary’s University and Master of Science degree in Strategic Studies while in residence at the Air War College. She began her civil service career in November 1988 as an Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA) training intern with the Air Force Electronic Warfare Center, Test and Measurement Branch. She worked in several directorates within the AFEWC and the Air Force Information Warfare Center from 1988 to1997.

Ms. Hanson has been a lead test and evaluation analyst on GPS-dependent weapon systems and dynamic airborne platforms at the Joint Navigation Warfare Center and the Army Test and Evaluation Command. In 2011 she became the Senior ORSA for the Army Cyber Command and led efforts to define cyber requirements, identify capability gaps and develop solutions. As the Executive Director, 24th Air Force, she assisted the Commander as a recognized authority for the evaluation and analysis of cyberspace concepts and provided leadership to develop cyberspace strategy, policy and doctrine. Her multi-disciplinary expertise and cyber capabilities made her an expert for Air Force cyberspace strategic initiatives. As the senior civilian for 24th Air Force, Ms. Hanson was the civilian workforce advocate to the command's senior leadership.

After attending the Air War College in residence, Ms. Hanson became the Technical Advisor for the SAF/A4P Logistics CIO Support Division. In this role Ms. Hanson provided executive leadership and expertise for the recapitalization and integration of all AF Enterprise Logistics Information Technology. She directed, defined and advised activities across the DCS/Logistics, Engineering & Force Protection, to include A4 Information Systems and technology, strategy, planning and programming approaches, policies, logistics functional requirements, and technical standards. Ms. Hanson continued her career on the Air Staff in the AF Chief Data Office as the Director of Operations. She was responsible to the Air Force Chief Data Officer to lead and establish an Enterprise Information Model, establish an enterprise data platform that makes Air Force data visible, accessible, understandable, linked, and trusted (VAULT). The VAULT Data Platform enables analytics partnerships and provides functional communities state-of-the-art cloud-based tools needed to solve the AF’s toughest data-related challenges. She also leads Department of the Air Force enterprise use cases that combine data science, engineering and architect expertise to tackle difficult cross-domain problems that support warfighting and force readiness.
