Brittney Chappell is the Program Manager for the NASA Acquisition Innovation Launchpad (NAIL). The NAIL construct is intended to empower a culture of innovation where big ideas can come from anywhere and any level, and anyone can be an Innovation Champion. In this role, she provides program oversight while championing efforts to continue innovating by collaborating with NASA’s acquisition community. Prior to accepting the NAIL position, she served as the Senior Procurement Analyst for NASA on Information Technology (IT) acquisition policy.

Before joining NASA, Ms. Chappell served as the Director, Office of Acquisition for the General Services Administration (GSA), Technology Transformation Services (TTS), where she provided leadership and oversight of TTS’s procurement functions, policy, and initiatives. She was the Acquisition Team Lead over the Department of Transportation (DOT) IT Acquisition Center of Excellence Division, where she was responsible for standing up the division to support the agency's IT shared services initiative.

Prior to DOT, Ms. Chappell was a Senior Contracting Officer at GSA in the Federal Systems Integration Management Center division providing assisted acquisition services for major Department of Defense IT requirements and completed an extensive detail as a Contracting Officer for the Executive Office of the President.

Ms. Chappell is a graduate of the Digital IT Acquisition Professional Training Program, USDA’s Executive Leadership Program, and holds an MBA from George Mason University. She has received numerous awards including the DOT Administrator’s Award for Excellence and the Multiple Award Government and Industry award for Acquisition Excellence.
