Mr. Steve Pitcher is the Senior Cyber Survivability Analyst for the Joint Staff J6. During Steve’s 20 years inthe Air Force, and 18 years as a government civilian with the Missile Defense Agency and Joint Staff, hehas held several cybersecurity, command and control, modeling and simulation, information sharing,Joint/Coalition operations, and cyber survivability positions. As part of the Joint Staff, he focused ondeveloping cybersecurity approaches to enable coalitioninteroperability, with authoritative data services and web-basedpresentation applications to rapidly deploy a hybrid missionplanning and execution network. More recently, he has workedto define how properly articulated cyber survivability thresholdperformance requirements can reduce resource and mission riskfor the acquisition of warfighter systems, by ensuringcybersecurity and cyber resilience requirements are balancedwith the system’s other functional requirements duringoperational risk trade-space decisions. Steve holds a B.S. incomputer science and math from the University of Puget Soundand an M.B.A. from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He isalso a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College and AirWar College, and is a Certified Information Systems SecurityProfessional (CISSP) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
