Mr. Donald E. Yeske, an employee of Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic, currently serves as the Chief Solutions Architect for the Department of the Navy (DON). In this capacity Mr. Yeske is a charter member of the DON Information Superiority Advisory Board, represents the DON in certain DoD forums, and leads DON-wide IT modernization efforts at the direction of the DON Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and DON Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Prior to this position he served as Head of Future Operations for Headquarters Marine Corps, Deputy Commandant for Information, IC4 Division from August 2019 until September 2021. Here he worked to support the IC4 Operations Branch, leading efforts to define a process to implement Network Governance, and leading the team that developed the first two iterations of the Marine Corps Enterprise Network Modernization Plan.
From January 2018 to July 2019 Mr. Yeske was the Director of Operational Sustainment, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for Combined Security Transition Command, Afghanistan (CSTC-A). In this capacity Mr. Yeske led a team of international advisors working to build the ICT capacity of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.
Mr. Yeske has held positions of increasing responsibility and authority within NIWC Atlantic since 2008. Mr. Yeske led several Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) from 2008 through 2017, including Combat Operations Center, Marine Air Ground Task Force Command and Control, and Tactical Service Oriented Architecture. Mr. Yeske also served as the Division Head for Expeditionary Enterprise Systems and Services from Jul 2020 through Aug 2022.
Mr. Yeske twice deployed with Marines as a civilian, including Jan 2007 to Jan 2008 (Al Anbar Province, Iraq) and January through September 2011 (Helmand Province, Afghanistan). He was twice awarded the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Non-Article V service medal for his deployments to Afghanistan, as well as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Civilian Service Commendation Award (for his service as Director, OS-ICT, CSTC-A) and the United States Marine Corps Commendation for Meritorious Civilian Service (for leading the team that produced the first iteration of the Marine Corps Enterprise Network Modernization Plan).
Mr. Yeske’s civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology Software Engineering from University of Phoenix and an Associated of Applied Science degree in Electronic Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. He is a certified scrum product owner, Scaled Agile Framework certified agilist, and Lean Six Sigma green belt. Mr. Yeske is now pursuing a Master of Science in Government Information Leadership from National Defense University.
