Charles “Chuck” Helwig is Odyssey Systems’ Executive Director of Odyssey’s Space & Missile Defense Group. He oversees operations and business development efforts for the Department of Defense, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration. He has been with the Wakefield, Massachusetts company since 2014.
In his previous roles, he was the Director of Business Development and OASIS Program Manager for the entire company, and served earlier as the director of Odyssey’s Communications Systems Technology division where he led Spectrum Management and cybersecurity projects for the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
Prior to joining Odyssey, he served 28 years in the United States Air Force, with positions as deputy director for Military Satellite Communications terminals; program director for Space Surveillance Network systems; program director for the Air Force Satellite Control Network and Standard Space Trainer systems; and chief of the Space and Missile Systems Center’s Acquisition Center of Excellence. He began his military career as a technical intelligence manager at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center, and ended it as the Associate Director of NATO’s Collaboration Support Agency in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France.
Mr. Helwig earned a Bachelor of Engineering, Electrical Engineering, from Stevens Institute of Technology, and a Master’s of Business Administration from Western New England University.
