Commander Jennie Hill serves as a Permanent Military Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the U.S. Naval Academy. The department is responsible for educating the Brigade of Midshipmen in Electrical, Computer, and Cyber Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland College Park, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture from the United States Naval Academy. Her research focuses on integrating machine learning techniques with side-channel analysis methods for advanced cyber defense and secure communication systems.

Before joining the Naval Academy faculty in 2011, Commander Hill served as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer, completing tours at Naval Security Group Activity Fort Meade and Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group. She later led a bilateral maritime cyber development project in the Commander’s Innovation Group at Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. TENTH Fleet. Commander Hill is Acquisitions Level 2 Certified in Program Management and Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering – Systems Engineering.
