Nicoletta Giordani is the Chief Strategy Officer of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency.

In this capacity, Ms. Giordani manages, directs, and oversees enterprise-wide strategy and transformation efforts, executing the Agency’s long-range vision through mergers and acquisitions and post-merger integration activities, strategic planning, enterprise data strategy and analytics, corporate governance, and IT modernization.

Prior to her current role DCSA, Ms. Giordani was the Deputy Director of the Personnel Vetting Transformation Office (PVTO), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security.

Ms. Giordani was selected as a 2019 White House Leadership Fellow and was detailed to the
Office of Management and Budget, National Security Division, from the Department of Defense
(DoD). Ms. Giordani was the Assistant Director for Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) at Defense Security Service. In this role, she advised DoD senior leadership on opportunities and challenges to the industrial base from foreign direct investment, global market trends, and technology transfers. This included representing the agency on matters related to foreign investments at the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).

Before joining the U.S. Government in 2013, Ms. Giordani held various senior positions in the private sector at multinational corporations. She worked on institutional business development for Guggenheim Partners, Investment Management Group in New York. Prior to this assignment, Ms. Giordani was a Director at UBS Wealth Management in New York, where she managed the investments of high net worth clients. From 2006 to 2008, Ms. Giordani was Vice President of strategic planning and business development at Credit Suisse Private Banking USA in New York. From 1998 to 2006, Ms. Giordani served as Senior Engagement Manager at Accenture in the capital markets practice where she led projects on corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, change management, and risk management. Her clients included JPMorgan Private Equity, MetLife, and GE Capital.

Ms. Giordani received a Master of Arts degree in International Economics and Strategic Studies from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a Bachelor and a Master of Business Administration joint degree from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. She is a graduate of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government senior executive fellows program and the venture capital program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
