Ms. De-Leashawn Johnson is a distinguished civilian leader with over 26 years of dedicated service to Air Force Contracting. She currently serves as the Civilian Deputy Director of the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) Contracting Directorate. AFDW/PK, as the directorate is also known, is the premier acquisition organization for the Air Force in the National Capital Region (NCR), providing innovative business leadership and a full range of contracting support to the Department of the Air Force—including the Secretariat, Headquarters Air Force, and Space Force—as well as other mission partners. In her role, Ms. Johnson applies her extensive expertise to guide the management of the directorate’s diverse portfolio and critical procurement operations.
Ms. Johnson launched her career with the Department of the Air Force at Robins Air Force Base. For the last 19 years, she has been a pivotal member of the Air Force District of Washington, holding various leadership positions of increasing responsibility. Her strategic direction has been instrumental in the successful execution of numerous high-profile and mission-essential acquisitions, including the Very Important Persons Special Air Mission, (VIPSAM); Executive Airlift; Air Force National Capital Region Information Technology Support Services, (AFNCR IT); Visible, Accessible, Understandable, Linked, and Trusted Data Platform, (VAULT); and Air Force Modeling and Simulation, (AFMS).
Ms. Johnson is an Albany State University Presidential Scholar and holds a Master of Business Administration from Georgia College and State University.
Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Johnson is the proud mother of emerging Jazz artist, Candace Jackson, and has served as a dedicated resource parent for countless youth throughout the Southern Maryland region.
