Wayne Sok became the product lead for Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) on July 10, 2019, after previously serving as the program’s deputy. As product lead, Sok leads the team responsible for establishing and maintaining no-fee, flexible contracts through which Army customers may procure IT hardware, software and services via an e-commerce (IT e-mart) based process.

Sok joined CHESS in July 2016 after serving as the executive officer at PEO EIS. In that role, he provided assistance to the program executive officer and the deputy program executive officer to ensure programs met all cost, schedule and performance objectives. The PEO EIS portfolio includes over 50 IT programs with a combined valued of over $3.5 billion annually. Sok also previously worked within PEO EIS as the quality assurance division chief for Reserve Component Automated Systems (RCAS) from November 2009 to August 2014, providing support in the RCAS lifecycle management division and managing projects that support the Army National Guard. Prior to joining RCAS and PEO EIS, Sok worked as a business consultant for BearingPoint in the Army sector.

In the United States Army, Sok served as an Armor officer in the 3rd Infantry Division and led an Armor platoon into combat during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Upon returning from Iraq, he served as a company executive officer and later transitioned into the Signal Corps and served as an S6 in the 2-12 Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Bliss, Texas. His military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Valor Device, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Parachute Badge, two Superior Civilian Awards and the Commander’s Civilian Award.
