Mr. Michael Arnold currently serves as the Deputy Director for the US Army Talent Management Task Force (TMTF).
A native of Sarasota, Florida, Mr. Arnold is a retired US Army Colonel with 25 years of active federal service as a Multi-functional Logistician. He was commissioned in May 1993 as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. (La Salle University). He also earned a Masters Degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Mr. Arnold was later selected to represent the US Army as a National Security Affairs Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University for his Senior Service College requirement.
Mr. Arnold served in a variety of key operational and command positions in the US Army from platoon leader through battalion command. Additionally, he was assigned as an assistant professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. Later he attended both the Army Command and General Staff College and the School of Advanced Military Studies and earned his second Masters Degree in Military Arts and Sciences at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He served as the Professor of Military Science for the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps at San Diego State University prior to assuming command of the 842nd Transportation Battalion in Beaumont, TX.
His deployments and assignments include: duty in the Federal Republic of Germany where he deployed to support Peacekeeping Operations for Operation Joint Endeavor in Bosnia Herzegovina; two tours (the 19th Sustainment Command and the 2nd Infantry Division) in the Republic of Korea; a deployment to support Operation Desert Thunder in Kuwait; deployments to Kuwait and Iraq to support Operation Iraqi Freedom; and contingency operations in Djibouti and Kenya to support State Department Activities for Task Force Horn of Africa (AFRICOM)
In his final assignment, Mr. Arnold served in a joint position as the Army National Account Manager at the Defense Logistics Agency at Fort Belvoir, Virginia where he was selected for Brigade Command.
Upon retirement, Mr. Arnold joined the defense industry as the Vice President at Savantage Solutions, a woman-owned, small business IT and Software Development Company.
Mr. Arnold’s awards include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and various service medals and unit awards. He is married to the former Karen Wakefield of Connecticut and has two children, Andrew and Cameron.
