Todd Paulsen currently serves as the innovation lead for the DIA’s Future Capabilities and Innovation office, Directorate for Science and Technology. He has also recently been assigned as the Program Manager for NeedipeDIA. He recently returned from a military deployment to Afghanistan as a naval officer, where he implemented AI solutions to support operational SOF forces. As a civilian, for the last 17 years he has worked both as an applied sciences researcher and as a political/military analyst. In this capacity, he has supported various DOD laboratories, DIA, the US Navy, the US Marine Corps, and J2/Joint Chiefs of Staff. He has worked on numerous advanced technology efforts related to strategic warning, advanced analytic tools, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, virtual reconnaissance, rapid manufacturing and prototyping, sensors, modeling and simulation, and various weapon systems. Prior to this, he taught over 3,000 Marines as an infantry skills instructor after deploying to Iraq with the 1st Marine Division in 2003. Mr. Paulsen received his B.A. in Biochemistry from Occidental College, and M.S. in Strategic Intelligence from National Intelligence University.
