Andrew (Andy) J. Nelson, Ph.D., currently serves as the Technical Director for Infrastructure Science and Engineering at the Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) in Champaign, IL, part of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). In this role, Nelson leads the planning and development of a portfolio of basic and applied research supporting Army installations in excess of $95M annual obligation authority. Nelson has previously served as the Director of ERDC’s International Research Office in London, UK, Chief of the Energy Branch at CERL and as the ERDC liaison officer to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy, and Environment.
