Chief Warrant Officer 3 James Gill has 18 years of Active Duty Service with nine years as a Warrant Officer. He enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in 2001 as a Signal Support Systems Specialist (MOS 25U), and transitioned to Active Duty in 2003. CW3 Gill’s first active duty assignment was Company C, 141st Signal Battalion, 1st Armored Division in Wiesbaden, Germany from 2003-2006. He deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom I with the division from 2003-2004. In 2006 he was reassigned to the 864th Engineer Battalion at Fort Lewis, WA where he deployed to Afghanistan from 2007-2008. In 2009 he was reassigned to 6th Engineer Battalion, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK through 2011. CW3 Gill became a warrant officer in the Electronic Warfare Branch in 2011 following completion of Warrant Officer Candidate School at Fort Rucker, AL and Warrant Officer Basic Course at Fort Sill, OK. CW3 Gill was assigned to 212th Fires Brigade at Fort Bliss, TX from 2012 to 2014 as the Brigade Electronic Warfare Officer. During this time, CW3 Gill deployed in support of Operation Spartan Shield with US Army Central in Kuwait. Following the deployment, CW3 Gill served as the Electronic Warfare Technician Observer Coach/Trainer at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, CA from 2014-2017 completing 25 rotations. CW3 Gill is currently stationed at Fort Gordon, GA at the Cyber Center of Excellence where he has served as the technical advisor for Doctrine, Lessons and Best Practices and Requirements Integration Division. CW3 Gill currently serves as the senior technical advisor for Army Capabilities Manager – Electronic Warfare.
CW3 Gill graduated from American Military University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Military History and is currently finishing his Master’s degree in Cybersecurity. CW3 Gill’s previous education includes the 25U Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course (Honor Graduate), ASI 1J Operational Electronic Warfare Course, Warrant Officer Candidate School (Commandant’s List), Electronic Warfare Warrant Officer Basic Course, Joint Electronic Warfare Theater Operations Course, Electronic Warfare Warrant Officer Advanced Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), and the Army Space Cadre Basic Course.
CW3 Gill’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (6th Award), the Army Achievement Medal (4th Award), and the National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award).
CW3 Gill is married to Mrs. Nadiene Gill. They have five children: Shaughn (20), Autumn (17), Emmah (15), Nickolaus (10), and George (1).
